Anti Block Cum Slip Masterbatches

Why use Anti-Block Cum Slip Masterbatches

Slip additive Masterbatches are added to films reduce the coefficient of friction while maintaining transparency and gloss. Different slip additives are added to films based on film construction processing conditions. Printability at various stages needs to be considered seriously in selecting the best anti block masterbatch. They are used to minimise the adhesion on similar parts of converting equipment & allow easy sliding over. Slip additives also allow easy mould/die release, but extra additions make issues like die deposition & printability issues at later stages.

Antiblock additives reduces the adhesion between layers by creating microrough surfaces. Many types of antiblock additives are available, ranging from synthetic silica which give high clarity, to natural silica or Talc where cost is important and clarity can be compromised to calcium carbonate where simple antiblocking without clarity is required. In many cases, these are used in masterbatches for multilayer film structures where both performance and processability matter.

Anti Block Cum Slip Masterbatches can be produced in a wide range of polymers like polyethylene, polypropylene, polyamides, Acrylic polymers, Polyesters etc. For speciality applications organic base antiblocks are used.

Combinations of antiblock and slip products offer cost-effective products for use in the films. A combo anti block masterbatch containing both additives is used for ease of mixing.

AddKan Anti-Block Masterbatches are based on chemically modified minerals, once compounded into a plastic these additives create a microrough surface which reduces the adhesion between film layers and lowers the blocking tendency.

These are ideal masterbatches for multilayer film applications where smooth unwinding and high productivity are essential.

Antiblocking Efficiency depends on 2 main factors

01

Number of particles of antiblock at the film surface

02

Size of the antiblock particles

The surface area of the antiblocks masterbatches should be maximum for a better Antiblocking effect, but it’s difficult to disperse finer particles, and agglomerates reduce antiblocking performance so coarser particle sizes are preferred in some applications. We also offer PET-based Anti Block masterbatches.

If you’re sourcing such performance-focused materials, it’s always wise to work with a reputed plastic raw material company that understands processing variables and application-specific needs.
